Last Monday, 18 May 2026, the team from the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change met once again at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ) to discuss the initiatives currently being developed by the group and to outline plans for future projects.

During the gathering, our researchers discussed various courses of action, such as the organisation of scheduled events – particularly the Latin American Seminar on Climate Justice – an update on the ongoing selection process for Black grant recipients, and a range of other topics. Researchers Arthur Vargas Facini (IESP-UERJ) and Sérgio Mecena Neto (IESP-UERJ) presented their project for the report covering the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will be published in a future edition of the Cadernos do OIMC series.
