Between 8 and 19 June 2026, the Observatory is hosting the sixth edition of the OIMC Cycle of Webinars, our annual series of conferences on the many aspects of the climate crisis, featuring four sessions with experts on the theme ‘Oceans and the Climate Emergency’.

Last Monday, 18 May, the Observatory team met once again at the Institute of Social and Political Studies to discuss the initiatives currently being developed by the group and to plan future projects.

Next Friday, 22 May, UFRJ’s Inovateca will host the event “6th Annual International Meeting CCS in Faces: The Climate Crisis on the Global Stage”. The Observatory is contributing to the programme by making up the panel “Climate Crisis and International Agreements”.

As part of the initiative “Climate Justice and Racial Equality: National Policies on Adaptation, Transition and Financing”, the Observatory is launching a call for applications for four Black researchers, in partnership with the Ministry of Racial Equality and the Federal University of Maranhão.
