On 29 April and 27 May, IESP-UERJ and the Department of Economics at Roma Tre University organised the First Brazil-Italy Doctoral Workshop, an initiative of the Observatory in partnership with Prof. Valeria Constantini.

From 25 to 29 May, the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro, the Fluminense Federal Institute and the Fluminense Federal University jointly organised the 18th Fluminense Congress on Scientific and Technological Research and the 11th Fluminense Congress on Graduate Studies.

Last Friday, 22 May, the Observatory team was invited by the 6th Annual International Meeting CCS in Faces to join the panel discussion ‘The Climate Crisis on the Global Stage’ at the UFRJ Technological Park.

Between 8 and 19 June 2026, the Observatory is hosting the sixth edition of the OIMC Cycle of Webinars, our annual series of conferences on the many aspects of the climate crisis, featuring four sessions with experts on the theme ‘Oceans and the Climate Emergency’.
