Prof. Ana Paula Tostes awarded Jean Monnet Chair of the EU

It is with great joy that the Interdisciplinary Observatory of Climate Change announces that Ana Paula Tostes, researcher from our Strategic Comitee, was awarded the chair that grants international distinction by the European Union to professors and researchers in the area of ​​European Studies and the European Union. Part of the European Program of Jean Monnet Actions in the field of Higher Education, the Jean Monnet Chair aims to support teaching and research in the field of European Union studies around the world.

This was the first Chair established at a public university in Rio de Janeiro and the first at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). The Project (101127443- EUgac) coordinated by the professor refers to the call ERASMUS-JMO-2023-CHAIR and its research theme is European Actorness and consequences: the EU politics and green transition agenda impacting third countries.

The activities related to the Teaching Chair attributed to the professor of the Graduate Program in Political Science at IESP-UERJ and the Department of International Relations (DRI-UERJ) aim to function as a radiating center for research on Europe, continuing teaching activities, research and extension at the University, especially between 2023 and 2026.
