‘Climate Crisis and International Agreements’ in the 6th CCS Meeting at Faces, at UFRJ

Last Friday, 22 May 2026, members of the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change were invited by the 6th Annual International Meeting ‘CCS in Faces’ to participate in a panel discussion entitled The Climate Crisis on the Global Stage. Held at the Technological Park of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Inovateca-UFRJ), this panel featured presentations by Prof. Carlos R. S. Milani (Director of OIMC) and Jiang Quanhong (Beihang University) to analyse how international climate agreements have become fundamental to thinking about concepts such as global governance, energy transition, multilateral cooperation and climate justice, under the mediation of Prof. Danielle Costa da Silva (IRID-UFRJ).

Organised by the International Relations Coordination Unit of the institution’s Centre for Health Sciences (CRI/CCS-UFRJ), the 2026 edition of the CCS in Faces Meeting aimed to provide a forum for promoting discussions on socially relevant issues and disseminating knowledge, with a focus on the theme The Climate Crisis in the Global Context. The event was supported by the Rio de Janeiro State Research Support Foundation (Faperj) and the Josué de Castro Nutrition Institute (INJC-UFRJ).
