On 6 March 2026, Friday, members of the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change gathered at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ) for a General Review and Strategic Planning Meeting. During a day of intense discussion and exchange of ideas, the OIMC team had the opportunity to assess the activities carried out by the Observatory to date, analyse the current climate debate in which the group is positioned, plan the organisation of ongoing projects, and suggest initiatives to expand and enhance our research agenda and our impact beyond the academic sphere over the next two years.

To streamline and organise the discussion, our team split into four thematic working groups, focused on governance and diversity of representation; the communication of our work; the organisation of the Latin American Seminar on Climate Justice in the second half of the year; and the planning and funding of future activities.
