New Commentary from OIMC tackles the role of youth in the international climate debate

The Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change is launching the latest publication of Commentaries from the OIMC, a series of short texts produced by our team in a free-form and opinionated format on various topics in the climate conjuncture. Signed by Beatriz Triani, a collaborator of the Observatory and a researcher at the Laboratory for World Political Analysis (LABMUNDO), this edition reflects on the importance of youth representation in international negotiations involving the climate emergency, based on the author’s participation in the 60th Meeting of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies.

A Master’s student in Political Science at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ), Beatriz is working on the research project The International Climate Change Regime and the tensions between the Geopolitical North and South, under supervision from Prof Ana Paula Tostes. She is also part of the Young Climate Negotiators Programme, promoted by the International Youth Observatory (OIJ).
