In the final months of 2025, Prof. Carlos R. S. Milani made a brief trip to Europe to represent the Observatory at academic events organised by institutions in Portugal and Italy. On 26 November, the OIMC Director was invited to give the opening lecture at the International Conference on Social Solidarity Economy and the Commons (SSEC), organised by the University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte). Entitled The Legacy of COP 30: Results and Challenges, the lecture inaugurated the activities of the fifth edition of the event, dedicated to the theme Collapse and Regeneration: Community Initiatives Prefiguring Sustainable Futures.

On 2 December, the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) welcomed Prof. Milani to present the main results of the 30th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) in Brazil and introduce the debate on climate obstruction with a lecture entitled The Global Politics of Climate Obstruction. Held at the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, Italy, the discussion was attended by Prof. Luigi Pellizzoni (SNS), coordinator of the Politics-Ontologies-Ecologies (POE) group, and Marcel Artioli (SNS), a doctoral student in Political Science, as a debater.
