On 28 May 2025, the team from the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change took part in the workshop Bridging the Gap: Pathways to align NDCs and policies with the Paris Agreement, promoted by the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS) at the COP House of the Brazilian Centre for International Relations (Cebri). Aiming to develop a technical and strategic dialogue on the road to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), the event invited Dimitris Tsekeris, senior researcher at Climate Analytics, to share reflections on the status of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) along with data and reports that will be produced until the COP and that can support the political and narrative reaction to the current scenario. The OIMC was represented at the event by Janaína Pinto, Patrícia Campos, Júlia Nascimento and Luan Werneck-Costa.

The Observatory is enthusiastic about the initiative by iCS, one of our main partners since the beginning, and is happy to be able to collaborate in the debate between experts and civil society organisations at this time, with a focus on transforming climate goals into concrete actions to be presented in November this year in Belém (PA).
