On 14 October 2024, representatives of the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change met with researchers from the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) at our IESP-UERJ headquarters for a workshop of the research network formed by the Climate Obstruction and Foreign Policy in Comparative Perspective project. The meeting discussed research content and project management issues, as well as defining the team’s agenda of actions and initiatives for 2025.
The meeting was attended by Professors Carlos R. S. Milani and Ana Paula Tostes, GIGA researchers Christiane J. Fröhlich, Miriam Prys-Hansen and Jesus Renzullo, and OIMC researchers Diogo Ives, Mariana Castro (virtually) and Rubens de S. Duarte. Coordinated by Prof. Tostes and Prof. Prys-Hansen, the research network has as part of its mission to produce mobilisation and interaction between academics from countries in the North and South, with a view to joint and innovative reflection on global climate obstruction.
