Between 8 and 12 April 2024, Prof. Carlos R. S. Milani took part in academic commitments in Mexico at the invitation of two of the country’s higher education institutions. In Mexico City, the coordinator of OIMC and of the World Political Analysis Laboratory (LABMUNDO) was at the Colegio de México (Colmex) to give a lecture to International Relations undergraduate students on the subject of Brazil in the debates on the Anthropocene, Climate Change and International Relations, and to present a seminar on comparative foreign policy to the professors of the university’s Centre for International Studies (CEI-Colmex), highlighting his research Brazil and Turkey in Multilateralism: a comparison between the Bolsonaro (2019-2022) and Erdogan (2018-2023) governments on the security, climate change and human rights agendas.
Prof Milani then took part in the International Seminar on Cooperation and the Global Agenda for Development, organised by the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Colima (FCPyS-UCol) on 11 and 12 April, delivering the event’s closing lecture, entitled The Anthropocene and International Cooperation: Challenges and Perspectives from the South. In Colima, he also took part in technical and planning meetings for future academic cooperation activities.
