OIMC at the inauguration of Casa Clima in Rio de Janeiro

On 10 June 2025, the Interdisciplinary Climate Change Observatory team, represented byArthur Facini, Beatriz Triani and Luan Werneck-Costa, attended the inauguration of the Casa Clima (Climate House) in Rio de Janeiro. A project of the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment and Climate (SMAC-RJ), the venue is dedicated to promoting and strengthening dialogue, coordination and joint action between the various players on the climate agenda. The event featured a presentation by Secretary Tainá de Paula and Deputy Mayor Eduardo Cavalliere, as well as a speech by activist Marcele Oliveira, the Young Climate Champion of the COP Presidency.

Located in the city centre, Casa Clima aims to be a space for activists, researchers and members of the climate movement to meet at a decisive moment, when the country is preparing to host the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30). The venue features coworking rooms and an exhibition of environmental artworks. OIMC congratulates the initiative and reinforces its commitment to helping strengthen climate policies at the municipal, state and national levels.
