OIMC at the 6th Annual International Meeting CCS in Faces

Next Friday, 22 May, the Technological Park of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Inovateca-UFRJ) will host the 6th Annual International Meeting CCS in Faces, an event organised by the International Relations Coordination Office of the institution’s Centre for Health Sciences (CRI/CCS-UFRJ). Dedicated to the theme ‘The Climate Crisis on the Global Stage’, the 2026 edition of the Meeting brings together researchers, students, professionals, public officials and representatives of civil society for five conferences coordinated by Professors Andrea Pestana (IM/CCS-UFRJ) and Andrew Macrae (IM/CCS-UFRJ).

As part of the event programme, between 12 noon and 1 pm, the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change will contribute to the panel discussion Climate Crisis and International Agreements. Featuring our director, Prof. Carlos R. S. Milani, and Prof. Jiang Quanhong (Beihang University), moderated by Prof. Danielle Costa da Silva (IRID-UFRJ), the panel aims to discuss how international climate agreements have become fundamental to thinking about concepts such as global governance, energy transition, multilateral cooperation and climate justice.

Enabled with support from the Rio de Janeiro State Research Support Foundation (Faperj) and the Josué de Castro Institute of Nutrition (INJC-UFRJ), the 6th Meeting CCS in Faces aims to provide a space for the representation and integration of researchers, students, professionals, public authorities, non-governmental organisations, community organisations and society, to foster discussions on topics of social relevance and the dissemination of knowledge regarding the impacts of the Climate Crisis in different areas of the productive sector.
