The Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change is launching the latest instalment of its Commentaries from OIMC series, a publication of short texts produced by our team, in a free and opinionated format, on various climate issues. In this edition, the Observatory’s Undergraduate Researcher Luan Werneck provides an analysis of the changing expectations and repercussions of the Conferences of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, with a focus on COP 29, held in Azerbaijan in 2024, and the legacy of this last convention for COP 30, scheduled to take place in 2025 in the city of Belém (PA), Brazil.
A student in the Department of International Relations at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (DRI-UERJ), Luan is also a member of the European Studies research group at the Laboratory for Teaching and Research in International Relations (LabRI-UERJ).
